Magneto’s Sexuality in Magneto #16

Dear Mr. Brevoort,

I’ve been reading Cullen Bunn’s Magneto series with interest over the past year. I don’t agree with glorifying Magneto’s violence, but it’s been a good read up until yesterday in which Magneto takes a young, human woman to bed. There are several problems I have with this.

1. Magneto is nearly 90 years old and he was making out with and bedding a very young woman. He needs to find someone his own age and stop creeping on the young ones (Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Wasp, etc). 

2. Magneto is Jewish and she is a white woman. It’s really ridiculous that they didn’t discuss this before getting in bed together. If Briar Raleigh was to get pregnant, her child would be bi-racial, putting him in between two different races. Furthermore, he would be half-Jew.

3. The most stomach-turning part of this whole encounter is the fact that it’s INTER SPECIAL relations. He’s a mutant, she’s a human. It would be the same as her bedding a dog or pig. 

So, she pretty  much gave herself up to a 90 year old, non-human, non-white man that’s a terrorist on top of everything else. And for what? 

Disappointing and ridiculous. I expect better in the future. 

This is why we can’t have nice things, comics-internet.
